Suspend 21.55 gms. of B951 in 500 ml. distilled water. Heat to boiling to dissolve the medium completely. Sterilize by autoclaving at 15lbs pressure (121°C) for 15 minutes. Cool to 45-50°C and aseptically add sterile 5% v/v inactivated horse serum,(Inactivate by heating at 56°C for 30 minutes.) and rehydrated contents of one vial of Brucella Selective Supplement. For isolation of Campylobacter species add rehydrated contents of 1 vial of Campylobacter Growth Supplement and 5-7% defibrinated sheep blood to 500 ml of B951.Mix well before pouring into sterile petriplates or tubes. |
